Unfortunately my 9 year old cat was diagnosed with pancreatitis recently. Initially, to get her well as quick as possible, I gave her the recommended Western medicines (antibiotics, etc.). Once her vomiting was under control and the medicine finished, I checked in with my holistic advisor for maintenance advice. This is one of the items he recommended. She won't eat her food with half a capsule so I feed her 3-4 meals daily so I can space out her supplements. Fortunately, I still have half a bottle of this because it has almost doubled in price since I bought my bottle. I can understand some price increase but a few dollars short of doubling is a bit much so I may have to change. This stuff works however, so we'll see.

This is what I did but each person should seek out qualified advice for his/her own pet. We switched her to a low fat diet (not the one sold by the vet which does not help and is expensive) but by purchasing cat foods with no more than 2% fat. I also add Gentle Digest (sold here at Amazon) and a couple drops of Milk Thistle. Some cats heal by getting switched to raw but I was feeding her raw. Raw alone did not cause her illness because I've raw fed many, many cats over the last 30 years. This little girl was already 6, we think, when I rescued her so there is no way of knowing what she ate previously. She was in pretty bad shape then so doubtless she didn't have steak often!

The other thing is that if feeding raw check to see if it's organic. The chicken I had been feeding her ate GMO corn. Shills can say what they want but GMO food causes tumors in mice. I'm just saying that to say that the low fat cat food worked for her. while continuing raw did not. It has been such a pleasure watching the light in her little eyes turn back on and for her silky fur to return. Anyway, a bit much for a review of a product but we all love our fur babies and wish them the best. Hope the price of this item drops some because it works!

My dog is 16 and developed pancreatitis in the last year. I've taken him off store-bought dog food and now he gets boiled skinless chicken breasts (shredded), about a half cup of canned veggies like peas or green beans (mashed with a fork), and a handfull or 2 of crushed gluten free corn cereal, just to fill him up. I add a half capsule of PetAlive Pancrease Booster to each meal. He eats a minimum of 3 meals a day. (He's a minpin/chihuahua and weighs 24 pounds and is fairly sedentary.)

I still have to give him a half Pepto Bismal tablet about a half hour after a meal from time to time -- if he's whining, then he's feeling pain from just digesting his food, I think.

I just ran out of the PetAlive booster and had to buy some digestive enzymes from my vet (because I have a CareCredit card I can use there... am on disability and no check for another couple of weeks) The vet product doesn't seem to be as effective but will have to do for now - and it cost $50 for 45 pills.

Almost any medication from a vet is overpriced. Often you can give your dog human-brand RX and/or over-the-counter medications instead -- ask the vet, but ask it this way "is this equivalent to a similar medication for human beings?", like if it's an antacid or pain reliever. Vets cannot tell you to give human-brand medications to your pets.

You also need to be careful about the dosages. I have a generic version of Pepcid I can give to my dog, but only 1/4 of a pill, which is based on his weight. I've thought of trying to give my dog plain yogurt with his meals to see if it is as effective as the PetAlive booster but am not sure I want to "experiment" with my old buddy.

I plan to re-order the PetAlive product once I get my next check because it made a big difference within just a few days.

My dog went into a major pancreas attack! Took the pills to show my vet, she laughed and said they were stealing my money, she said before you buy something like this do your research, and there’s no refund on this product, I have a full bottle I never opened yet! Don’t be a fool like me

so, like you, i was using this to support my dogs pancreas. while she was not diagnosed with a disorder of the pancreas, she became very ill twice after ingesting a high fat item and they suspected but could not confirm pancreatitis.

being a very satisfied customer of Pet Alives since 2003 or so, when i read the description, i was under the impression this was helpful for pancreas function. but i was wrong. it for serious/chronic conditions of the pancreas. within 30 days of starting this (1x per day June 2019 until last night August 1, so something like 80 pills), she began to exhibit extreme exercise resistance, excessive panting to the tune of 140 -220 breaths per minute while at rest, sleeping excessively and scratching too much.

and just this week, she began drinking excessively, urinating frequently, despite being on Pet Alive Kidney Support twice per day. then, i gave her too many treats b/c she was demanding them, barking at me, it was funny in a way, she had an episode resembling pancreatitis with drooling, restlessness, and even incontinence.

she has several other health issues; 1. Lyme 2. poisoned by Hills diet (while recovering from pancreatitis) which there is no lab data to support, but from which i had believed her kidneys could have been damaged and 3. she's 7 and been a grain free dog all her life which could have DCM whose symptoms also mirror some of what we're dealing with.

in speaking to a health consultant at Pet Alive about these new onset symptoms (concerned that something i was giving Libbi was causing or contributing to whatever is going on), we went through all the ingredients of all the herbals and homeopathics she's taking. the PA rep explained that Pancreas Booster is an herbal, meaning it's more of a medicine. and that, in those instances of acute pancreatitis, versus chronic condition where the pancreas cannot digest fats, it won't help and i believe that in my dogs case, it may have accelerated or even caused Cushings onset/disease symptoms.

i just thought i should warn folks who set out thinking they're doing good by their pet, but if that support product was prepared to act more like a medicine, ultimately it may cause harm. this is in no way the fault of Pet ALive whose products have kept my dogs HW free, managed asthma, and reversed kidney disease levels. Libbi only had one tablet per day (at night), and she weighs 48lbs and could have had 2 per day according to dosing. but that's still about 80 or so doses. crossing fingers that there was no LT type damage done to the pancreas, and also about to order their Cushex homeopath tincture and heart tonic, which i have thought was her issue from the onset.
